The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM hosted a delegation from the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The visit catalyzed collaboration, featuring discussions on the key points to be included in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and was marked by the exchange of tokens of appreciation symbolizing the strengthening of academic ties between the two institutions.
The Chulalongkorn University delegation was led by Professor Dr. Pranut Potiyaraj, Dean of the Faculty of Science. Also present in the delegation were Associate Professor Dr. Prasert Reubroycharoen (Deputy Dean), Associate Professor Dr. Inthawoot Suppavorasatit (Deputy Dean), Associate Professor Dr. Sehanat Prasongsuk (Deputy Dean), Assistant Professor Dr. Chompoonik Kanchanabanca (Assistant Dean), and Dr. Wuttichai Reainthippayasakul (Assistant Dean).
The event was attended by the faculty leadership, including the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Ir. R. Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; and the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Prof. Ir. Yuny Erwanto, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM. Also present were the Head of the International and Domestic Cooperation Unit Management Team; the Head of the Department of Animal Product Technology, Ir. Rusman, M.P., Ph.D., IPM.; the Secretary of the Postgraduate Study Program, Dr. Ir. Endy Triyannanto, S.Pt., M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng.; as well as faculty representatives.
On this occasion, Budi Guntoro emphasized that this collaboration marks a significant milestone in expanding the faculty’s international network, particularly in the areas of research, education, and student exchange.
“The collaboration with the Faculty of Science at Chulalongkorn University is expected to pave the way for joint research and broader academic capacity building, including student involvement,” he said.
Professor Dr. Pranut Potiyaraj echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that they welcome the opportunity for strategic collaboration with UGM. “We hope this partnership will strengthen both universities’ contributions to the advancement of science and multidisciplinary research, as well as foster a wider academic network,” he stated.
