The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM has initiated a collaboration with National Taiwan University (NTU). This initiative was marked by a visit from NTU representatives, followed by discussions between the two parties on Friday (12/9). Two delegates from NTU attended the meeting: Dr. Chihhao Fan and Dr. Yu-Hua Chen. Representing the Faculty were the Dean, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Prof. Ir. Yuny Erwanto, S.Pt., MP., Ph.D., IPM.; the Head of the Office of International Affairs (KUI), Ir. Dimas Hand Vidya Paradhipta, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPP.; as well as several other early-career faculty members.
Chihhao Fan stated that, in addition to visiting the Faculty, the NTU team also visited several other faculties, including Agricultural Technology, Forestry, Agriculture, and Veterinary Medicine.
“We wish to explore potential collaborative opportunities with the Faculty of Animal Science,” he explained.
According to him, there are significant opportunities for collaboration involving not only students but also faculty members. Moving forward, this collaboration will be formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Budi Guntoro, welcomed the visit by the NTU delegation. He identified opportunities for collaboration, such as student exchanges and research in the field of animal science.
“This will further strengthen our cooperation, especially given that we and NTU are both members of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) University Consortium,” said Budi.
During their visit to the faculty, the NTU delegation also toured the Tropical Livestock Research Center Laboratory located in the Animal Science Learning Center (ASLC) building.
