The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM once again carried out its tradition of distributing free chicken eggs to students taking the Odd Semester Final Exam or Ujian Akhir Semester (UAS) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The final exam took place from Monday (8/12) to Tuesday (16/12). Approximately 1,900 eggs were distributed during the exam period.
The Head of the Administration Office of the Faculty, Nurma Diani, S.Pd., MBA., explained that this program, which has been running for the past few years, demonstrates the faculty’s care for student welfare.
“The Faculty of Animal Science’s focus is not only on academic achievement but also on student welfare. Eggs are chosen because they have high nutritional content and are suitable for a breakfast option,” said Nurma.
She hopes the egg distribution will help students feel more prepared, focused, and calm during exams.
Dias and Bima, students from the class of 2023, expressed their happiness regarding the egg distribution. Dias said eggs are very beneficial as a morning source of protein, especially for students who haven’t had breakfast.
“I’ve received these eggs several times during exams. I’m happy. I can add them as my side dishes too,” said Dias.
The egg distribution program also serves as a way to promote livestock products and indirectly educate students about the importance of consuming affordable and healthy animal protein.
