30 students of TK Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta conducted a visitation at the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) on Tuesday (3/2). This visitation is an outing class which is regularly conducted by TK Masjid Syuhada.
Reni, one of the teams from Pusat Pengembangan Ternak (PPT) of the Faculty, stated that ever since September 2025, the educational livestock tour at the Faculty has finally reopened. “For the time being, the Faculty of Animal Science was not accepting visitors due to the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak. However, now it has been reopened,” said Reni.
Since its reopening in September 2025, the educational livestock tour at the Faculty has already attracted many visitors, ranging from playgroup, studygroup, kindergarten, and elementary schools. At the Faculty, visitors can enjoy an educational tour across the dairy cattle area, various dairy livestock sections, and even the pet zone. The facilities provided include milk, eggs, drawing paper, and a tour guide.
At the Faculty, students from TK Masjid Syuhada had the chance to interact with the animals in the livestock barns for both meat and dairy animals, such as chicken, rabbit, sheep, goat, horse, and cow. They seemed to be very enthusiastic when feeding the animals.
“I’m happy. There are various animals here.” said Key, one of the students.
