Two Kangwon National University (KNU) students, Korea, Doyoung Kim and Jun Gyu Choi, are currently taking a student exchange program at the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM during the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year. Both were impressed with the practicum at FAS UGM.

“One thing that is very different from our campus is practicum. In my opinion, the practicum at FAS UGM is good. There is no practicum at my campus,” Doyoung said when being interviewed at the FAS UGM campus on Friday (10/26). In order to enliven its 49^th Anniversary, Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM held a series of sporting events, namely volleyball, badminton and tennis. The match was attended by lecturers, students and education staff and took place on October 19 to November 22, 2018.

The majority of graduates in the first period of the 2018/2019 academic year of the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) Postgraduate Program graduated cumlaude. Five of the 6 Masters Program graduates and 2 Doctoral Program graduates achieved cumlaude. Meanwhile, one graduate of the Masters Program graduated with a very satisfying predicate.

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM officially released 211 contingents that will compete in Porsenigama 2018 which will take place on October 20 to December 1, 2018. The contingents are divided into 19 sports and 7 branches of art.

“Congratulations to the athletes who will compete in Porsenigama. The main purpose of this activity is to show the existence that we exist. Secondly, as a venue to show the work that was inspired by Sapta Pesona Diri,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. UGM once again lost one of its best lecturers, Prof. drh. Soemitro Padmowijoto, M.Sc., Ph.D., Wednesday (10/24).  A last tribute was given to the Professor of Animal Husbandry Faculty at Balairung UGM, Thursday (10/25).

Chairperson of UGM Board of Professor, Prof. Drs. Koentjoro, MBSC., Ph.D., in his speech expressed deep condolences over the passing. The deceased was known for his theory on Mratani technology in the history of Indonesian agriculture, which is farming while breeding, gardening, and planting trees in yards. read more
