RADAR JOGJA – Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM continues to update information about animal science for farmers, breeders, and prospective breeders by holding free lectures for them.
Dean of Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA, DEA, IPU explained that this free lecture was the dissemination of good farming practices to the community. “The public interest in getting information about animal science technology is quite high, so we hold this 4th class free lectures,” he said via telephone.
Ali Agus said the community need to obtain information and updates on animal science from trusted sources such as the Faculty of Animal Science UGM. Even the first and second batch of participants has formed the Rojokoyo Gama Mandiri Cooperative. “The arrival of the community to campus following this event proves that they are serious and indeed need to take part in this program so that it will enhance the possibility of success,” he said.
Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Ir. Bambang Suwignyo, S.Pt, MP, Ph.D., IPM, added, the lecturers in this free lecture are the same as the lecturers in regular lectures. There are 5 materials namely various beef cattle, various dairy cattle, various poultry, quality animal feed, and integrated farming systems. “There are professors and teaching doctors at the UGM Faculty of Animal Husbandry,” he said.
Dr. Ir. Sigit Bintara, M.Sc, IPM, Director of the Center for Animal Husbandry Development Study – Faculty of Animal Science UGM as the implementing unit of this program said that until the closing of registration, the number of registrants reached 1,568 people. The number of participants in each material varied, between 337 to 1,068 participants. (sce / pre / tif)
