Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM, Cropmark Seeds New Zealand Ltd, and PT New Zealand Livestock Feed Systems Indonesia are collaborating on experiments and joint research on forage crops for livestock. The Memorandum of Agreement letter was signed on Monday (1/4) at the FAS UGM campus.
“The huge forage need is a challenge for us. For this reason, real action is needed to develop grass. This is a good opportunity, thank you for your support. The result of this research has been awaited by end-users (industries),” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when giving a remark at the MoA signing.
The CEO of Cropmark Seeds New Zealand Ltd, Brent Stirling, said that he was pleased to be working with FAS UGM. “This research is important to increase livestock productivity. Thank you for your research and cooperation,” he said.
Director of PT New Zealand Livestock Feed Systems Indonesia, Brian Thorrington, said that the synergy between FAS UGM and Cropmark Seed New Zealand Ltd was not only the first research in this field, but also able to improve and develop the livestock industry in Indonesia.
“It is a privilege for us to work with UGM which is the number 1 university in Indonesia. The research quality at UGM is second to none and we look forward to the success of the research,” Brian said. (Nadia)
