A Doctoral Student from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM Undergoes International Research at the University of Miyazaki, Japan

Muhammad Dicky Mandiri Nasution, a student from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM’s Doctoral Program, received the valuable opportunity to conduct part of his dissertation research as a visiting researcher in the University of Miyazaki, Japan. This program is part of the International Publication Quality Improvement Program or Program Peningkatan Kualitas Publikasi Internasional (PKPI), organized by the Directorate of Resources, Directorate General of Higher Education, specifically for students receiving Master’s to Doctoral Education for Outstanding Graduates scholarships or Pendidikan Magister menuju Doktor untuk Sarjana Unggul (PMDSU). read more

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM’s Community Service Team Assists the Kemiri Pakem Women Farmers Group in Producing High-Quality Ice Cream

The Community Service Team or Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (Pengabmas) of the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, led by Prof. Nurliyani, conducted a dissemination activity on dairy processing technology in Kemiri, Purwobinangun Village, Pakem District in 2025. This activity, funded by the 2025 Community Service Grant Competition of the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, aims to strengthen the downstreaming of post-harvest technology in local dairy farming businesses and to create business opportunities based on local potential. read more

Establishing Dialogue, Building Resilience: The UGM Patriot Expedition’s Journey to Review Conflict Management and Prevention Design in the Tubbi Taramanu Transmigration Area, West Sulawesi

A research team from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM participated in the Transmigration Patriot Expedition organized by the Ministry of Transmigration. The Patriot Expedition Team was tasked with exploring remote areas in West Sulawesi as part of a mission to build social harmony in transmigration areas, particularly in the Tubbi Taramanu Transmigration Area. This research combined field research, social experiments, and community service.

During the four-month expedition, The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM sent five personnel to West Sulawesi. The team was led by Dr. Moh. Sofi’ul Anam, S.Pt., M.Sc., with members Haidar Rais, Putri Safitri, Maria Hilary, and Naufal Dzaki. read more

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM’s Community Service: Education and Donations for Islamic Boarding School and Taman Siswa Students

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, through its Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), once again held a social service event to mark the Faculty’s 56ᵗʰ anniversary. The event took place on Wednesday (12/11) at the Ki Hajar Dewantara Islamic Boarding School, located within the Taman Siswa school complex in Ngempak, Sleman. This initiative reflects the academic community’s commitment to the educational sector, specifically by supporting the learning process and fostering self-reliance among the younger generation in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry. read more

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM Successfully Hosts ISTAP 2025, Featuring Experts from Five Countries and Strengthening Global Collaboration

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM has once again demonstrated its standing on the international stage by hosting and organizing the 11ᵗʰ International Seminar on Tropical Animal Production (ISTAP) 2025 at the Eastparc Hotel Yogyakarta. This prestigious biennial seminar featured 89 presenters from five countries, alongside keynote and plenary speakers from seven nations.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Puji Astuti, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., UGM’s Director of Partnerships and Global Relations, who delivered remarks on behalf of the UGM Rector. In her address, Prof. Puji emphasized that ISTAP is one of UGM’s flagship academic events, serving as a platform for global collaboration in research and scientific publication within the field of tropical animal production. read more
