Bambang Suwignyo, S.Pt., M.P., IPM., ASEAN Eng., a lecturer from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, attended the 62nd Philippine Society of Animal Science (PSAS) Scientific Meeting and Annual Convention. Held from October 21-24, 2025, at the Subic Bay Travelers Hotel and Events in the Subic Freeport Zone, Zambales, Philippines, the event was supported by a SEARCA Travel Grant.

The Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada, in collaboration with the Gadjah Mada Animal Science Alumni Association (KAPGAMA), participated in ILDEX Indonesia 2025, held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in BSD City, Jakarta, from September 17 to 19, 2025. This collaboration served as a pivotal event for strengthening ties among academics, alumni, industry players, and stakeholders within the national livestock sector.

Led by the Faculty’s UGM ILDEX Team Chair, Ir. Rochijan, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPM., and the KAPGAMA ILDEX Team Chair, Ir. Achmad Dawami, the event featured a range of activities, including discussions, experience-sharing sessions, and cross-sector networking initiatives, as well as the proposal and reinforcement of the KAPGAMA Alumni Scholarship program. The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM has once again welcomed students from SMK Negeri 3 Madiun for a Field Work Practice (PKL) program. This initiative represents an ongoing collaboration between vocational secondary education and higher education aimed at enhancing students’ skills and their readiness for the workforce.

“We hope the students will gain a broader range of experiences. While they previously undertook internships in the industrial sector, this opportunity offers a more comprehensive experience within a university setting,” said Bayu Faliandra, S.T., a supervising teacher from SMK 3 Madiun, during the handover of the students at the Faculty of Animal Science on Monday (6/10). read more

Yesita Vera Saraswati and Dio Fico Felsidan Diatmono, doctoral students from the UGM Faculty of Animal Science, had the opportunity to serve as masters of ceremony (MCs) for the orientation event for the 9th cohort of the PMDSU (Master’s to Doctoral Education for Superior Bachelors) scholarship program. Both are PMDSU scholarship recipients from earlier cohorts; Yesita belongs to Cohort VI, while Dio is from Cohort VII. They were invited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), specifically the Director of Resources, to host the orientation program, which took place from September 15 to 17, 2025, at the Kemdiktisaintek Ballroom and the Mangkuluhur Artotel Suites in Jakarta. read more

The Integrated Farm Training program, a collaboration between the Faculty of Animal Science at UGM and PT Global Dairi Alami (GDA) in Subang, officially concluded on Tuesday (23/9). This program provided foundational training in the dairy cattle industry for PT GDA employees and has been underway since April 2025.

Attendees at the closing ceremony included the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; the Senate Secretary, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Prasetyo Widyobroto, DESS., DEA., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; and the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Ir. Andriyani Astuti, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng. Representatives from PT GDA included Paulus I.
