A student team from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM once again achieved impressive success through their participation in the Terranova 2.0: Essay and Poster Competition, organized by the Environmental Engineering Student Association of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, on Sunday (16/11). This national-level competition, with the theme “Sparking Sustainable Change: Youth and the Future of Energy & Minerals”, attracted hundreds of students from various universities across Indonesia.
In this prestigious competition, the UGM team, consisting of Dini Aruni Karunia Romadhoni, Revalda Stefani Danela, and Batista Varani Bravinda Bintasani, successfully advanced their scientific paper, “EcoShell Edible Smart Film: Implementation of Natural Mineral CaCO₃ from Eggshell Waste as a Smart Material for Food Spoilage Markers Based on Renewable Energy”, to the full paper stage after passing a national abstract selection. This work is based on the issues of the energy crisis, high plastic consumption, exploitation of mining minerals, and the urgency of transitioning to sustainable materials.
