The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM Initiates Collaboration with NTU

The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM has initiated a collaboration with National Taiwan University (NTU). This initiative was marked by a visit from NTU representatives, followed by discussions between the two parties on Friday (12/9). Two delegates from NTU attended the meeting: Dr. Chihhao Fan and Dr. Yu-Hua Chen. Representing the Faculty were the Dean, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Prof. Ir. Yuny Erwanto, S.Pt., MP., Ph.D., IPM.; the Head of the Office of International Affairs (KUI), Ir. Dimas Hand Vidya Paradhipta, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPP.; as well as several other early-career faculty members. read more

UGM Faculty of Animal Science Students Win Best Animal Feed Formulation Award at Hasanuddin University

Three students from the UGM Faculty of Animal Science, led by Prima Cendekia Nirmala Afiatri, with team members Bangkit Setiyoko and Zahra Ayu Pramesthi, won the “Best Formulation” award and secured 1st Runner-Up in the Animal Feed Formulation competition. The event was organized by the Animal Product Technology Student Association of Hasanuddin University on August 30, 2025. Community Empowerment Through Agroforestry for Sustainable Fodder Security at KHDTK Wanagama

To enhance sustainable livestock feed security and empower communities living near forests, a Community Service Team from the UGM Faculty of Animal Science, led by Prof. Bambang Suhartanto, organized a training session titled “Implementing Agroforestry Systems to Enhance Sustainable Feed Security”. The event took place on Saturday, August 30, 2024, at the Wanagama Forest Area with Special Purpose or Kawasan Hutan dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) in Gunungkidul.

Funded by the UGM Directorate of Community Service, this program focuses on providing support to the “Mitragama” livestock farmer group. The initiative aims to address the shortage of green forage during the dry season by utilizing the land beneath tree canopies at KHDTK Wanagama through an agroforestry system. read more

Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Learns About Entrepreneurship at the UGM Faculty of Animal Science

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Brawijaya University visited the Faculty of Animal Science at UGM on Monday (1/9) to study its entrepreneurship program. The delegation was led by Chomsin Sulistya Widodo, Ph.D., the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship at FMIPA UB.

Chomsin noted that FMIPA UB graduates have career opportunities across various sectors, extending beyond the realm of pure science.

“Many of our alumni work in the livestock, fisheries, and medical sectors, among others,” he stated. read more

Faculty of Animal Science at UGM Graduates 121 Students

The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM graduates 121 students, 45 men and 76 women, on Thursday (28/9). Four of these graduates came from the International Undergraduate Program (IUP).

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng., stated that graduation marks the beginning of a journey. He expressed his hope that the Faculty of Animal Science graduates would continue to produce meaningful work and innovate after completing their studies.

“Graduation is not the end of the journey. Congratulations, and I am proud of the achievements you have attained,” Budi said in his remarks during the send-off ceremony at the Fapet ASLC Hall. read more
